Universally binding declaration for waste management fee for portable batteries

This agreement relates to portable batteries weighing 0-3 kg and industrial batteries weighing 0-1 kg. As of August 18, 2025, the agreement extends to portable batteries weighing 0-5 kg and industrial batteries weighing 0-1 kg. The agreement serves as the financial basis for establishing, maintaining, financing, and implementing a waste management structure for the aforementioned batteries and accumulators. Producers participate in the waste management structure and contribute a waste management fee to Stichting OPEN.

The universally binding declaration is valid from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2028.
